Welcome

Whether you are a parent of a deaf child, a teacher in a mainstream school or you have a general interest in deafness, Wandsworth Hearing-impaired Service is well equipped to help you. We are the main source of information, resources and support on deaf children in Wandsworth. Our expertise is recognised not only in Wandsworth but also throughout London and the South East.

Whatever your enquiry or need you will be sure of a warm welcome to our well established and dedicated Service.

"The whole Service has been very supportive.
 They understand how things are."

One of the highlights of our work this year was the Quality Assurance visit to look at how well we and colleagues in Health and Children's Specialist Services are providing support and services to deaf children identified through Newborn Hearing Screening. This is part of a national programme and judges our performance against other services across the UK. The inspection team reported:

"the provision of education (for deaf children) in Wandsworth is of an exceptionally and consistently high standard".
